Two culture-defining brands that both started in Pennsylvania nearly a century apart came together for an iconic partnership, with GLD officially becoming the exclusive in-store jewelry brand for Mitchell & Ness. After kicking off the partnership with the opening of Mitchell & Ness’ new Philadelphia flagship store on May 29, GLD unveiled The $1,000,000 Hat during the weekend leading up to the MLB All-Star Game.

What Is the $1,000,000 Hat? Behind the Design
In typical GLD fashion, we had to come through with something the world has never seen before. The design team at GLD crafted The $1,000,000 Hat, which was on display for one night only at the Mitchell & Ness flagship last weekend to kick off the 2026 MLB All-Star Game. As one attendee put it, “It was a pleasure being there for the first look, the craftsmanship and details were amazing.”
The 6-panel OG snapback is made of real suede, with 4,609 brilliant hand-set stones, totaling 66.5 carats. It features an iced-out top button and iced-out eyelets. It also features a “1-of-1 Limited Edition” button and a GLD logo button on opposite side panels, a baseball hat and glove charm on the brim, and an iced-out Cuban link chain across the bill. Athletes, creators, media, and tastemakers got a first-hand look at how GLD is pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.
The GLD x Mitchell & Ness Custom Hat Experience
The $1,000,000 Hat isn’t the only thing we pulled up with. GLD brought a DIY Custom Hat Station, where attendees were able to personalize their Mitchell & Ness hats with rope, Cuban, and Figaro chains, as well as pendant charms featuring MLB teams. The immersive in-store experience gave fans a taste of what the collaboration will bring through personalized jewelry and headwear. It also debuted the new GLD x Mitchell & Ness Hat Charms collection.
