Share Your GLD Story: Coach Leroy Frederick’s Sideline Ice

This week’s story features Leroy Frederick, a college football coach from Mulberry, Florida, who wears GLD on the sidelines every Saturday. He’s even used GLD as a recruiting icebreaker to bring new players onto the team. Check out Leroy’s full story below:

The Leroy Frederick GLD Story

What is your GLD story?

GLD gives me the flyest feeling each and every Saturday I get on the team bus! It gives “FIRE” to every suit I rock on game day. GLD plays its part in the “Look Good, Feel Good, Coach Good” world of things and is definitely always a conversation piece for my family, friends, and fans who see me on the sidelines every week on TV. I was and have been the talk of the conference. When walking into high schools and homes to recruit players, my GLD pieces are always icebreakers. For as many kids who love it, just as many, if not more, adults love it.

What team do you coach?

I am now coaching at Mississippi Valley State University.

What is the best sideline compliment you’ve gotten on your jewelry?

The chain crew (who work on the sideline) said my whistle looked better than Coach Prime’s.

Can you tell us the story of one specific recruiting visit where your GLD pieces broke the ice?
 
One standout story is from a recruiting visit in Tampa, Florida. When we arrived, the door opened and the recruit's grandmother immediately noticed my GLD piece and said, “I like him, he’s wearing that chain (my dog tag) with style and realness like a true Florida boy.” Everyone in the room laughed and the rest is history.

 

What's your favorite GLD piece, and why?

My favorite piece has to be my whistle because it highlights my style and approach: “Be that man!”

 

What impact has GLD made on your life?

It’s simple. GLD gives me the utmost confidence.

What do you want to see us create next?

I would love to see something for nurses. That would be dope.
